The Resonant Grounds Initiative's mission to foster new collaborative relationships among performers, composers, and audiences through the practice, performance, and proliferation of contemporary classical music. We believe that by creating personal and accessible pathways to new works of art, we can enrich the experience of audiences and artists alike. Recent highlights include a series of performances in Copenhagen, Denmark with violinist Amalie Elmark; a performance and masterclass series with Molly Joyce and Miao Zhao at the Kodály High School of Music in Debrecen, Hungary. The project’s name comes from the mission statement that Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály wrote for the Kodály High School of Music. In it he states that the school should “set an example by…creating a strong influence on the surrounding community,” bringing “resonant life to the mute grounds around”.
